Why we point you here

Deep in the Asturian mountains, a family kitchen built on the exact spot where the family began.

Casa Marcial sits in a remote hamlet outside Arriondas, ringed by mountains — and on the very ground where Chef Nacho Manzano's grandmother once kept a shop and cider press, where his father later ran a roadside bar and his mother a small country restaurant. He cooks with his sisters Esther in the kitchen and Sandra out front, and his nephew Jesús alongside, and the food is almost entirely about this corner of Asturias: traditional plates like his mother's stewed free-range chicken and the region's beloved fabes, reimagined with modern technique and produce from their own organic garden. Opened in 1993, it earned its first Michelin star in 2000, its second in 2010 and its third in late 2024, along with a Green Star for how seriously they take sustainability. A meal here is really a chef showing you where he's from. Worth getting a little lost in the hills to find.
