Why we point you here

Barcelona's avant-garde wonder — named the best restaurant in the world in 2024.

Disfrutar (Catalan for "enjoy") is run by three chefs — Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas — who met in Ferran Adrià's legendary elBulli kitchen and stayed until it closed. They opened here in Barcelona's Eixample in 2014, earned three Michelin stars in 2024, and that same year were named No. 1 on the World's 50 Best. Their cooking is playful, technical Mediterranean wizardry — think a multi-spherical pesto, "solid bubbles," even a living table that changes through the meal — built on the techniques they pioneered and the rest of the fine-dining world now borrows. Two menus, Classic and Festival, in a bright, ceramic-lined room. There's always a waiting list, and it's earned. Book the moment you know your dates.
