A Florentine legend with one of the greatest wine cellars on earth — the rare Italian three-star you visit as much for the bottles as the plates.
Enoteca Pinchiorri started as a wine shop, and the wine is still half the legend: a cellar of well over 100,000 bottles and thousands of labels, from Romanée-Conti to early Sassicaia, deep enough that regulars come as much to drink as to eat. Chef Annie Féolde and Giorgio Pinchiorri built it from that wine bar on Via Ghibellina in the 1970s into a fixture of Italian fine dining set in a frescoed Renaissance palazzo; along the way she became the first woman outside France to win three Michelin stars. Today the kitchen is led by Chef Riccardo Monco, whose refined, unshowy Italian cooking lets luxury ingredients speak, and a pastry team turns out a soufflé people remember for years. Bring an appetite, a sense of occasion, and ideally a serious wine budget.
